AACN members are entitled to unlimited free CE credits as a benefit of membership. AACN is the only professional association to support continuing education for its members at this level. All CE articles in AACN print journals as well as the more than 300 CE offerings in the AACN Online CE Center are eligible under this membership enrichment program.

Throughout the history of AACN, our members have led and participated in the journey toward excellence in their individual workplaces. Using AACN standards to guide our practice, we have shared our successes and innovations to encourage each other to become the best that we can be. However, we have never had a way to adequately recognize and acclaim critical care nursing units that achieve the highest quality outcomes. The AACN Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence not only accomplishes that, but will also provide a mechanism for individual units to measure progress against evidence-based, national criteria for excellence, learn and refine processes, and be heralded across the nation for their achievements.
AACN's Healthy Work Environment Initiative is a multi-pronged, multi-year effort to engage nurses, employers and the nursing profession in recognizing the urgency and importance of working collaboratively to improve the environments in which nurses work.
