AACN BOARD COMMUNITY LIAISON PROGRAM

Overview

The AACN Board Community Liaisons are AACN members who have been selected to attend the AACN Board Meeting for the purpose of gaining insight into the governance and key initiatives of AACN, which they will then in turn share within their communities. The work of the AACN Board Community Liaisons is part of the local action initiative and is designed to be a mutually beneficial relationship for the Board and the Community Liaisons.

Role of AACN Board Community Liaisons
  1. The AACN Board Community Liaisons will receive the opportunity to attend an AACN Board of Directors meeting. At the meeting, the Community Liaisons will have an opportunity to see the work of the Association leadership firsthand, and secondarily they will be able to participate in discussions related to select agenda items, as appropriate.
  2. Each Community Liaison will be assigned a current Board member to assist them prior to the meeting and during the meeting.
  3. Each Community Liaison will receive an agenda, in advance, outlining their schedule for the meeting weekend, including which activities are mandatory, optional and/or Board Only. They will also receive the relevant supporting materials.
  4. All expenses (travel, hotel and meals) related to attending the AACN Board meeting will be paid by AACN.
Expectations of the AACN Board Community Liaisons
