STAFF LIAISON - JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
Provides a National office perspective to group work.
Brings knowledge of AACN activities and initiatives.
Collaborates with chairperson and board liaison on group outcomes, agenda items, etc.
Communicates information on pertinent issues or trends, which may impact group activities.
Demonstrates knowledge of how the project is affected by, or affects, other AACN initiatives.
Assures operational support to the group.
Provides input on available resources.
Assures orientation of members to operational activities (e.g. expense reporting, travel arrangement).
Assures that agenda, minutes, correspondence and proposals are created, distributed and responded to appropriately.
Assures that all meeting minutes are completed and disseminated within 3 weeks following the meeting.
Actively prepares background information, including retrieval and analysis.
Assures financial analysis and budget development of cost-effective options for projects.
Facilitates meeting logistics.
Provides feedback to chair, board liaison and group members as appropriate.
Orients group members to annual evaluation process.
Jointly conducts annual evaluation of group chair in collaboration with the Board Liaison.
Jointly conducts annual evaluation of Chair along with Board Liaison.
Submits leadership references for any current and/or past committee members applying for leadership positions.
Assures the group selection process is effectively implemented.
Assures appropriate applicant information is provided to chairperson and Board liaison.
Consults with chairperson and Board liaison regarding group needs and member qualifications.
Orients chair to selection process.
Foster a collaborative working environment between the Staff Liaison, Board Liaison and Chair.
Collaborate on development of charges for the group and forward recommended charges to the Board for approval.
Develop all conference call and meeting agendas.
Monitor progress of volunteer groups towards achieving the approved charges.
Identify potential chairs for coming year, communicate with them accordingly and forward recommendation to President-Elect.
Conduct the application review and if needed the interview process for group members for the coming year and forward recommendations to the President-Elect.
Communicates regularly regarding the progress of the group and jointly resolves any challenges that may impede the group's progress.
Jointly identifies potential chairs for coming year, communicates with them as needed and forwards recommendations to the President-Elect.
Jointly conduct review of applications, interviews prospective group members as needed and forwards recommendations to the President-Elect.
